My mom, Lillian B. Clarke, has a recipe book that she saved in which she has lots of recipes from the magazines and papers of the 40's and 50's.  I will be sharing them as I get time to scan them.  This "Johnny Mazetti" recipe had hand written on the back of the page: "Double recipe in 1942 cost $6.16." See bottom.

(1) 2 Green Peppers
 2 lbsOnions
 1 Stalk celery
  CHOP TOGETHER AND SAUTE' IN OLIVE OIL
(2)  Brown 2 lbs ground round steak and place in a dutch oven with (1)
(3) Add:2 cans tomato paste
  2 cans Arturo sauce
  2 cans tomato soup
  2 cans mushrooms
  1 large bottle (8 oz) stuffed olives
  2 tbsp worchestershire sauce
  Allow to simmer together for 2 to 3 hours
(4)  Cook 4 packages wide noodles. Place in a roasting pan and mix with the other ingredients. Cover with grated cheese and bake for 1 hour.
