In the early 60s I would go down to listen to LeRoy play the big organ at the Panama Hilton. This, I am told, was LeRoy's drink of choice. One night I was bet $20 by a cruise ship passenger that I could not drink two from the same glass and walk to the Lobby and back to the bar. I remember drinking the first one. Sometime while the mixologist was building the second one I lost track of things. Apparently I won the bet as I woke up in one of the plush bar chairs with two tens stuck in my shirt pocket. Go figure!

Zombie - Panama Hilton Style

1 1/2 oz Carta Vieja Gold Rum
3 tsp Lime Juice
1 tbsp Old Jamaican Rum
1 tbsp Carta Vieja White Rum
1 tbsp Red Sloe Gin
1 tbsp Pineapple Juice
1 tbsp Papaya Juice
1 1/2 tsp Simple Sugar Syrup
1 tsp 151 Proof Lemon Hart or Peter's Demerara Rum
1 Pineapple ring
1 Marichino cherry
1 Parasol toothpick
Powdered Sugar

Shake all ingedients over ice, except the 151 rum, sloe gin, the fruit, and the sugar. Strain into a 12 to 15 oz tall collins glass and add ice. Float the high-proof rum, and then the sloe gin at top and sprinkle a little powdered sugar over it. Garnish with pineapple and cherry skewered by the umbrella and the killer -- a straw!
