1 As a first step the solid red oak replacement treads, risers, trim, and flooring for the landing is brought to the house to aclimateize for 10 days.

2 Premium carpeting being replaced is removed

3 Carpeting is cut from around the railing rungs

4 Padding is stripped and all staples are removed

5 Rungs are wrapped with blue tape and numbered

6 Then they are carefully removed to be reused

7 Noses and lips are saber-sawed off the treads (ends first day)

8 The first main stair box is completely removed and replaced

9 Finished box is touched up with wood filler

10 Stained trim is checked for color (see next photo)
